Top 5 Artisanal Donut Spots in the 614
1. Amy's Donuts
You may have read one of our previous posts here about how much we love Amy's. The different varieties will make your head spin and best of all? Their adorable kid tours! For free.99 you can get a small group together (think field trip, scout troop, play date group, etc) to go behind the scenes of the doughnut making process. And then each child gets to decorate two doughnuts! It really is a super special experience.
This is such a cute little diner and since I love all things teal, I am a sucker for their logo / signage. Not as large of a variety of doughnuts as some of the other shops on the list but no less tasty! Make sure to grab a cup of premium Peet's coffee with your dozen!
As soon as we walked through the door of this diner we were greeted with jokes and smiles. Such a friendly and inviting atmosphere! Get ready to enjoy some handcut donuts, made from scratch every day! 31 varieties for your tasting pleasure! The maple bacon long john is amazing by the way. Don't feel like donuts? They offer a great breakfast menu as well as gyros, salads, etc! If you are near OSU campus, this is a great spot to meet a friend for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or post bar munchies. Did I mention they are open 24 hours?!
4. Duck Donuts
From Duck, North Carolina to Westerville, Ohio we finally have a Duck Donuts! The kids loved the step stool up to the glass to watch the employees at work. Every spot on this list makes fresh doughnuts daily but I was surprised to see them making the base and then decorating with frosting and toppings order by order. Nothing feels better than being handed a warm dozen! Another item of note is their Quack Gives Back program where they partner with community groups to raise funds and awareness.
5. Peace, Love, and Little Donuts
The newest member of our pastry community has landed in Worthington! Step in to this adorable shop and be transported to the '70s for a groovy time! Hand made and hand decorated right in front of you! For our first visit we got a complimentary cinnamon donut while we waited in line. I was so overwhelmed by all the varieties that I just told the employee to make up a random dozen, and EVERY.SINGLE.ONE was amazing! We will definitely be back and it doesn't hurt to stop at Graeter's next door either. ;)
P.S. Doughnuts or donuts ? What's the deal there?
