Quarantine Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of quarantine. I managed to sleep in until 8:30 AM. A full breakfast was actually had, shocking. Got the kids dressed and ready to go on a mural hunt (from the car, calm down people) around Chicago. Unfortunately, right before I thought I would be able to manage a shower for myself….

Oliver threw up and we had to make a mad dash to the bathroom. I got him cleaned and dressed (again) and figured I should wait a bit and make sure it didn’t happen again. (Cleaning up vomit from an infant car seat is my LEAST favorite thing in the world. I hate it more than brussel sprouts.)

I think Henry wants this quarantine to be over. Way too much noise in this house.

At one point I thought it would be safe to sneak a shower. I turned on the water for a little preheat action, and then repeatedly got pulled away for various requests from various children only to return to a cold shower. Sigh.

Apparently Oliver refuses to eat broken granola bars… even though he is the one breaking them. Doesn't this kid know you can’t waste food in a quarantine?!

I settled onto the couch in defeat and mindlessly watched Sam & Cat (some Nickelodeon show featuring a young Ariana Grande speaking in a strange voice) while I waited for the water to warm. I could not begin to tell you how long I spaced out for.

Realizing there was no way we were going anywhere today, especially because it was raining, I admitted defeat and put Oliver down for a nap.

We printed out silly monster faces for the kids to color in preparation for another neighborhood walk thing. Tomorrow’s theme is silly faces. I mistakenly thought the hunt was today. Who even knows what day it is anymore?

1:00 PM: I finally got to take a shower and let me tell you, it was luxurious. I even spent an extra few seconds putting on a resurfacing peel and then deep moisturizer. It’s like i’m having a spa day y’all! This is seriously my first shower in like 4 days. It’s gross, I know, but how about you find the time for me?

Speaking of Beauty Counter, I needed to replace some items I was running out of and they came in the mail today. Not like I’m going to be seeing anyone anytime soon but maybe I can practice my makeup skills for when I finally emerge.

I always tell my self I am going to try and look like a reasonable member of society, but then I just go with slob. The best intentions right? Well I’m still on my optimism kick so we are just going to let it ride.

Here’s the exciting part. I FINALLY have lunch! My first meal of the day! I can’t say there was never another time to eat but Ollie was extra clingy all morning and we were all just a bit sluggish. It seems like we are on an every other day trend of productivity.

2:00 PM: These poke bowls from Aldi I STOCKED up on to survive this apocalypse. I mean, quarantine. I’m obsessed. It’s one of those sometimes products so I doubt they will be there on my next trip. They probably need the room for toilet paper or something.

4:30 PM: Oliver is awake, older kids are still watching tv, Sebastian is playing Prodigy… time to get dinner going and the day is nearly done.

Oh wait, did we do any e-learning today? Pfff of course not.

We go through Seb’s plan and he gets his work done for the day after he finishes dinner. We’ll do Charlotte’s tomorrow.

I know the kids are itching for outdoor time but today is a real downer with all the cold and rain. Quarantine would be a lot easier if we could enjoy the backyard.

Hoping that tomorrow we can go do the mural hop and I can find time to actually get through an episode of Westworld.

This one is a real tough cookie to get through the bedtime routine.
